Word of the Week: RESILIENCE
Life May Knock You Down, But It Doesn't Have to Keep You There!

Let me ask you something: How many times have you allowed a setback to convince you that you couldn't move forward?
Maybe you started a weight-loss journey, made some progress, and then life got in the way.
Maybe you promised yourself that this would finally be the year you took control of your health, only to find yourself falling back into old habits. Or maybe it has nothing to do with your weight or your health. Maybe you've experienced disappointment in your marriage, your career, your business, your finances, or even your personal relationships. Life has a way of testing us, doesn't it?
That's why our Word of the Week is RESILIENCE.
Resilience is the ability to recover, adapt, and keep moving forward when life doesn't go according to plan. But here's something I want you to understand:
Resilience doesn't mean you never get knocked down. It means you make the decision that getting knocked down will not be the end of your story.
Your Past Doesn't Have to Determine Your Future
One of the things I've learned over more than 25 years of helping people improve their health is that success rarely happens in a straight line. There are setbacks. There are disappointments. There are moments when motivation disappears and quitting seems like the easiest option. And as we get older, those challenges can sometimes feel even greater.
Maybe your body doesn't respond the way it did when you were 25 or 35.
Maybe losing weight has become more difficult. Your energy isn't what it used to be. Your joints ache, your muscles aren't as strong, and you're frustrated because the things that once worked don't seem to work anymore.
But I want to challenge you with this thought:
Just because something has become more difficult doesn't mean it's become impossible.
You may need a different strategy. You may need better guidance. You may need more patience, consistency, and accountability. But what you don't need to do is give up on yourself.
Stop Allowing Temporary Setbacks to Become Permanent Decisions
Think about that for a moment.
How many goals have you abandoned because things didn't happen as quickly as you expected? How many times have you told yourself, "I'm just getting too old for this"?
How many times have you allowed one bad week to erase the progress you made during the previous three?
Here's the reality: A setback is an event. Quitting is a decision.
Missing a workout doesn't mean you've failed.
Making a poor food choice doesn't mean your entire nutrition plan is ruined.
Experiencing disappointment in life doesn't mean your best days are behind you.
Resilience is about recognizing what happened, learning from it, and making the decision to move forward.
And sometimes moving forward doesn't mean taking a giant leap.
Sometimes it simply means taking one small step today that you weren't willing to take yesterday.
Watch This Week's Short Video: RESILIENCE
I've put together a short video about our Word of the Week, and I want to personally invite you to watch it.
As you watch, I want you to think about one area of your life where you've allowed disappointment, frustration, or fear to slow you down.
Then ask yourself:
"What would I do differently this week if I refused to allow my last setback to determine my next step?"
Take a few seconds to watch the video. My hope is that it challenges you, encourages you, and reminds you that your journey is far from over.
